Fostering is "through-to-adoption", meaning the cat or kitten will be in your care until adopted. Do you understand that although we will do all we can to help your foster(s) find their forever families as fast as possible, this COULD be a long-term foster situation? *

Depending on the age of your foster(s), they will require space to play and do "zoomies" a few times a day. Although fosters can spend most of their time in a playpen, bathroom, or bedroom (depending on their age), do you understand that they will need access to a larger space a few times a day for enrichment?

Do you have other pets at home? If so, what species, breed, age, and are they spayed and neutered? *

Are there children under 13-years-old in the home? If so, do you agree that the adults - and not the children under 13 - will be 100% responsible for the care of any fosters, unless under direct supervision of an adult? *

Most fosters will require spay and neuter. These appointments are made by Cats in Need with a local vet, and will require the foster(s) be dropped-off in the morning, and picked up in the afternoon. We will schedule these appointments to work with your schedule. Missed appointments due to a mistake on the part of the foster will require the foster to pay for the missed appointment, should Cats in Need be charged for the missed appointment. Vaccines and deworm are administered 2 and 3 weeks apart. Do you understand you are responsible to ensure they receive their first rounds, and then their follow-up vaccines and deworm within the communicated timeframe? *

Fosters and volunteers with Cats in Need are expected to treat one another respectfully and with kindness. Volunteers failing to do so will not be allowed to continue fostering with Cats in Need. Do you understand and agree to these expectations?

Are you confident in your ability to take LOTS of quality pictures and short videos of your foster(s) throughout their time with you for their Petfinder profiles? If not, do you agree to allow another volunteer into the home to take the necessary pictures?

Please be aware that friends and family are sometimes denied adoption approval due to their home not being safe or appropriate, depending on the age of the foster(s). Please keep this in mind when networking your fosters to friends and family, and encourage them to submit an application for adoption approval BEFORE visiting or developing a relationship with the foster(s).
