Pro Tip: A single baby kitten is not the best companion for a kitty over 6 or 7 years old. Why? Because that’s about as much fun for your older kitty as it would be for a 40/50/60-year-old human to suddenly be locked in a house with a random 2-year-old they have to entertain while it follows them around wanting attention.
Kittens are little energizer bunnies, and just like with humans, your older kitty won’t be able to keep up with their energy, and they may act-out, hide, or simply not enjoy the space the way they used to. The solution is an easy one. Get 2 kittens. Your older cat can join-in when they want, and the babies will leave them alone the rest of the time because they’ll have each other to entertain!
